2026/27 – Progress

Following on from our Give Hockey a Go sessions in May and June, we’ve now completed five training sessions at Rathmichael School — and it’s been fantastic to see the kids arriving each week with big smiles. Last weekend some of the girls received their new kit, which was a brilliant moment for them and for us as a club.

We’re delighted to share that we now have over 50 members across our different age groups. It’s wonderful to finally have club hockey in Shankill, and even better that so many children can simply walk to training.

Planning is already underway for a series of 5th‑class away fixtures against Avoca, Bray, Dalkey and Monkstown, giving the girls valuable preparation ahead of next year’s league. We’ll also be organising some mini‑matches for our younger players so they can enjoy their first taste of friendly competition.

News from Leinster Hockey has also arrived for those girls in 6th class awaiting their league fixtures…
